Aubameyang After Tuchel sacked: Sad, only a few days together

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang only briefly worked with Thomas Tuchel. Aubameyang was signed at the end of the transfer window, a chance to reunite with Tuchel at Chelsea.

Unfortunately, Chelsea's poor pace at the start of this season led to Tuchel's dismissal. The German boss was released by Chelsea after the defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League.

This means that Aubameyang and Tuchel's cooperation will only last for a short time. In fact, there had been hopes that Aubameyang would thrive under Tuchel, considering the two had worked together at Borussia Dortmund.

Now, for the first time, Aubameyang has opened up about Tuchel's dismissal. What did he say?

Sad, just a few days

Firing a coach is certainly not a good thing, both for the players and for the team. Aubameyang also emphasized that Tuchel's departure was not the team's hope.

Unfortunately, cases like this are common and unavoidable. Aubameyang also only briefly worked with Tuchel.

"Everyone knows my relationship with Thomas. It's always sad when someone has to leave the club. Obviously, I only had a few days to work with him," said Aubameyang.

"When you play football you have to try to adapt as quickly as possible to the difficult moments in the middle of the season, cases like this [a sacking] can happen."

Must adapt

Now the Chelsea coach seat is filled by Graham Potter. The Blues brought Potter from Brighton to replace Tuchel. Of course this change means the players have to adapt again.

"We had a crazy week, but that's part of life. We have to adapt, indeed the situation is a little out of control, but hopefully we can return to the best moments," continued Aubameyang.

"Obviously this situation is strange for every player, not just for me. But, as I said, that's football, you have to adapt."
