Lionel Messi Overtakes Cristiano Ronaldo's Record Again, What Is It?


Lionel Messi is back past Cristiano Ronaldo's flashy record. This time, the PSG star surpassed the Manchester United star's record in the goalscoring category without counting penalties throughout his footballing career.

Amazingly, Lionel Messi managed to overtake Cristiano Ronaldo's record despite playing 150 matches less.

Lionel Messi scored PSG's only single goal when overthrowing Lyon 1-0 in the continuation of Ligue 1 2022/2023, Monday (19/9/2022) early morning WIB. Now, La Pulga is recorded to have packed 672 without a penalty throughout his professional career.

Ronaldo was previously level with Messi, who recorded 671 goals without a penalty. However, now he must be willing to leave Lionel Messi in this category.

Ronaldo still beats Messi in several records

Even so, Ronaldo is still ahead of Messi in several other record categories. One of them, Ronaldo recorded more caps for his country than Messi.
