Anthony Martial recently exposed the sins that Ole Gunnar Solksjaer made against him. The 26-year-old player felt he was not being treated fairly.
Martial did experience a period of ups and downs during Ole's coaching Manchester United. The 2019/2020 season was at the peak of its glory when the French player scored 23 goals and 12 assists from 48 matches in all competitions.
When he was expected to appear bright again in the next season, Martial actually sluggish. He only scored seven goals and ten assists from 36 games in the 2020/2021 season.
No doubt, he received quite heavy criticism from Man United fans at that time. To him this is unfair because Ole has committed two sins against him.
First Sin: Forced to Play
Martial revealed his condition in the 2020/2021 season was almost never fit while playing. However, he continued to be forced to play and he had no other choice.
"People don't know the problems I face. I'm not fit to be able to accelerate for four months when the competition is running in a pandemic," he told France Football.
"But the coach needs me, so I still have to play. The problem with my style of play is that I have to be able to accelerate, the situation will be very complicated."
Second Sin: Not Open
Martial insists that he has never had a problem with criticism or blame. But what he hates is Ole's decision to never open up about his condition.
"Then I was haphazardly criticized by fans. The coach has never spoken about this to the media," he complained.
"I took all of that treatment badly. I felt unnecessarily unfair."
Like Betrayal
Martial even categorized what Ole did to him as a betrayal. He has done a lot for the team, but there is not the slightest bit of appreciation for him.
"I was asked to sacrifice myself for the team, but behind the scenes, I was ignored. For me, this is like a betrayal. That's what I hate," he explained.
Now, Martial is trying to get up with new coach Erik Ten Hag. Although at this time he can not be played because he still has to recover from injury.
