Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has criticized Todd Boehly for claiming Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne as alumni of Chelsea's football academy.
Boehly has been in the spotlight lately. He previously came up with the idea of holding an all-star match.
Then he also made a claim that is sure to make many football fans in England laugh. He claims Mohamed Salah, a Liverpool superstar, as a Chelsea academy graduate.
It's not just Salah who is claimed to be a Chelsea academy graduate. He also called Manchester City star Kevin De Bruyne the same as Salah.
Todd Boehly has previously sought to make Chelsea's academy proud. He said the academy had produced many top players.
Some of the names he mentioned were players who graduated from the Chelsea academy. Call it Tammy Abraham and Mason Moun.
“We have one of the best academies in the world. Our academy is Mo Salah, Kevin De Bruyne, Tammy Abraham, Reece James, Mason Mount, Trevoh Chalobah."
Todd Boehly's claim then received a scathing response from Thierry Henry. He said the American man should learn to choose the right facts first before telling the media.
"Did he say lessons? Lessons? What do they mean? What are they trying to teach? Lessons? Are you a teacher or something?" he asked via CBS Sports.
"Comments about De Bruyne and Mo Salah ... just learn your own lesson and then come back and teach us something," Henry snapped.
Origin of Salah and De Bruyne
Mohamed Salah is not a Chelsea academy player. Salah only joined the Blues at the age of 22.
At that time he was recruited from the Basel club. Salah played at Chelsea one season before being loaned out to another club.
Meanwhile Kevin De Bruyne started his professional football career at the club Genk. He was then signed by Chelsea in 2012.
De Bruyne was unsuccessful at Chelsea and was loaned to Werder Bremen. He was later sold to Wolfsburg in 2014.
