Falling in El Clasico, Xavi: Real Madrid is more mature than Barcelona!


49erssports.com - Barcelona manager, Xavi commented on his team's defeat in El Clasico yesterday. He said his team lost flying hours from Real Madrid so they fell in that match.

Last night, Barcelona visited the Santiago Bernabeu. They will challenge their rivals Real Madrid in the 2022/23 La Liga.

In this match Barcelona went home while swallowing shame. Las Azulgrana fell by a score of 3-1.

When asked why his team lost in that match, this is Xavi's comment. "I don't think Real Madrid beat us in terms of intensity, but they are more mature in playing," Xavi was quoted as saying by Marca.

High Flying Hours

According to Xavi, the current Real Madrid squad is much more mature than the Barcelona squad which is filled with many young players. So they know how to deal with their team.

"They [Madrid] played very mature. They know how to beat us," continued Xavi.

"They are a team that is much more mature than us. Their maturity is what made us lose that game."

No need to exaggerate

Xavi also considered that the defeat in El Clasico did not need to be exaggerated. He said Barcelona only lost three points in this match and there is still a long time to make up for those three points.

"We are still in the process of building this team. We can still compete to win the [Spanish] League," continued Xavi.

"It is still October and we do have to make some improvements. We are in a negative moment, but fortunately we only lost three points in this match," he added.

Next Game

Barcelona is trying to bounce back in the next La Liga game.

Las Azulgrana will host Villarreal at Camp Nou on Friday (10/21/2022) early in the morning.
