Antony Flattered to Get Praise from His Idol, Cristiano Ronaldo

The new Manchester United star, Antony, responded to the praise and applause from his colleague, Cristiano Ronaldo in the match against Arsenal, Sunday (4/9/2022) yesterday.

Antony performed brilliantly in his debut match with the Red Devils. The Brazilian winger scored the opening goal of Manchester United's victory over Arsenal.

Antony's debut goal also attracted the admiration of many people, including Ronaldo who stood up and applauded from the Manchester United bench.

Antony was then pulled off by Erik ten Hag in the 58th minute. Interestingly, the figure who replaced him on the field was Cristiano Ronaldo.

The two of them tossed on the sidelines. Interestingly, in that moment Ronaldo showed a warm smile, a sign of praise for Antony's debut.

Through his personal Instagram account, Antony uploaded the moment and added the word "Idol" and mentioned Ronaldo's account name, @cristiano.

Meanwhile, Antony's impressive debut performance also invited Ten Hag's praise. According to the Dutch coach, Antony is a new threat in the Premier League.

"We can create speed and creativity together, Antony will be a threat in the Premier League," said Ten Hag.

"We lost players on the right wing, Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford could play on the right, but they prefer the left. So now we have a missing link, who plays well on the right."

"Antony did well, but I feel he can do even better. Antony scored a good goal, but every goal is a team goal."
