Antony Praises Marcus Rashford's Intelligence When Helping Him Create First Goal

 

 

Antony who had a perfect debut with Manchester United, he scored his first goal in his debut match in front of the fans. This 22-year-old player also praised the intelligence of Marcus Rashford who released a mature pass to him.

Antony became the breaker of the deadlock in the match. His goal in the 35th minute managed to bring Man United out of pressure, after being attacked continuously by Arsenal.

However, the player who was brought in from Ajax Amsterdam did not play fully. In the 58th minute, he was withdrawn and replaced by Cristiano Ronaldo.

Antony remains proud of his achievements. He was happy to be able to make the stadium roar in his first match in the Red Devils uniform.

Antony admitted that he got goosebumps when the stadium with a capacity of 74,879 thundered celebrating his goal. His celebrations also really showed how emotional he was with the goal.

"When I saw the ball go in, and the net vibrated, I expressed all my feelings as I did. Yes, it definitely gave me goosebumps," he told the club's official website.

"Scoring my first goal and sharing this moment with the crowd, in such a great atmosphere, was brilliant. From the moment I stepped onto the pitch I had goosebumps because I knew how much I wanted to be here and I knew how much the crowd wanted this. "

The goal could not be separated from the role of Rashford who provided assists. Antony explained that he believed Rashford could deliver a mature pass when he managed to find space and a comfortable position to shoot.

"Bruno Fernandes had the ball and then he passed the ball to Jadon Sancho. Sancho touched Marcus and I believe he can send the ball either way," he said.

“And when Marcus, being a very intelligent player, realized I could run, I just left. He slipped the ball well."

Antony who received the bait was also very confident with his instincts. He puts the ball where he wants it.

"Marcus [Rashford] passed the ball perfectly so when it came to me there wasn't much else for me to do," he said.

"I saw the goalkeeper and the ball came perfectly to me to put it where I wanted it. I'm very happy to follow my instincts."
