Here's how Erik Ten Hag convinced Tyrell Malacia to move to Manchester United

Tyrell Malacia has opened up about his move to Manchester United. He admits that Erik Ten Hag was a factor in his willingness to move to Old Trafford.

Malacia is one of the hot properties in the transfer market yesterday. He performed well with Feyenoord last season, so many clubs are interested in the player.

Malacia initially almost moved to Lyon. But in the final seconds the Red Devils managed to hijack the transfer.

When asked about the transfer process, Malacia admitted that Erik Ten Hag was the reason he moved to Manchester United. "I know him [Ten Hag] because I faced him in Holland," Ten Hag told Sky Sports.

Clear Vision

According to Malacia, Erik Ten Hag called him in the seconds before he moved to Lyon. The manager explained his plan and vision and mission to the players.

The defender was impressed with the manager's vision. So he felt determined to move to MU.

"Before I moved, I spoke with the coach on the phone. We had some good talks with him and I was interested because I could understand what he wanted because his vision was very clear," continued the defender.

Really Serious

Furthermore, Malacia said that Manchester United really wanted him seriously. The club is really trying to get him to move to England.

He was flattered to see MU's hard work so he decided to choose to move to Old Trafford.

"Moving clubs is a big decision, so when there is a club where both the manager and the club really want you, then that is one of the important factors in my decision making," he stressed.

So mainstay

Malacia itself was initially only a coating in the MU first team. But now the situation has changed.

He is now a mainstay of Erik Ten Hag on the left side of the MU defense because Luke Shaw is injured.
