Injuries are not too severe, Marco Reus can still play in the 2022 World Cup?

There is good news coming for the German national team. Marco Reus is reportedly still able to play in the 2022 World Cup because his injury is not too severe.

Last weekend, Marco Reus had an accident. He suffered an injury when dealing with Schalke 04 in the Bundesliga.

The injury was reported to be quite serious. As a result, many doubt the player can defend the German national team in the upcoming 2022 World Cup.

But there is a glimmer of hope for Der Panzer. Borussia Dortmund confirms that Reus' injury is not too serious.

Check out Dortmund's full details below.

Ligament Injury

Dortmund Sports Director, Sebastian Kehl recently revealed the latest condition of Reus. He confirmed that the player suffered a cruciate ligament injury recently.

"It looks like his ligaments are injured. He is very disappointed with the injury and he is in a lot of pain," Kehl told Sport1.

"The injury honestly took us by surprise. But the initial information we got, the condition is not as bad as initially thought."

Can Recover Fast

According to Kehl, Reus' injury was not as severe as initially thought. So he claims the player can recover in time to play in the 2022 World Cup.

"We have received the results of the initial examination. So far we have not found any cracks in the injury," continued Kehl.

"He only suffered a lateral injury in the ankle. So I think he is still safe to play in the World Cup later," added the Director.

Reus' Substitute

Reus should have played in the international break this time. But because he was injured, Hansi Flick decided to call his replacement.

He called RB Leipzig's Benjamin Henrichs to fill Reus' slot in this international break.
