Julian Nagelsmann already knows how to quell Robert Lewandowski's goal instincts

Bayern Munich, which is used to taking advantage of Robert Lewandowski's advantage, must now be busy thinking about how to stop him. This has been anticipated by manager Julian Nagelsmann.

This promise will be proven when Munich face Barcelona in the second match of Group C of the 2022/2023 Champions League. Munich will face Lewandowski's sharpness at the Allianz Arena, Germany, Wednesday (14/9/2022) early morning WIB.

Lewandowski is fit to play from the start. His energy was saved when Barcelona thrashed Cadiz 4-0 in the previous match.

Apart from being fit, Lewandowski is also in his best form. He has scored nine goals in just his first six games with Barcelona.

Biggest Threat

Nagelsmann is well aware that Lewandowski is the biggest threat that Munich can face. However, the 35-year-old coach does not classify the 34-year-old as the most dangerous player that Barcelona have.

After all, Barcelona does have other players who could be the difference in the match. Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele are one of them.

"I don't know for sure whether Lewandowski is the most dangerous player at Barcelona. One thing I believe is the biggest goal threat comes from him," Nagelsmann said at an official press conference.

Weakness

Nagelsmann explains that as great as Lewandowski is, he still has weaknesses. One of them is that he cannot score when it is difficult to receive the ball.

This is what he will do in the next game. Nagelsmann confirmed that Lewandowski would not receive the ball.

"Lewy gives a very good presence in attack and makes very good movements. But if he does not receive the ball, it is difficult for him to score goals," he said.

Know Old

Nagelsmann's understanding of Lewandowski's figure cannot be doubted. The two have known each other for a long time and had worked together for some time in Munich.

According to the Transfermarkt website, Lewandowski has played 42 times under Nagelsmann. He underwent all of those matches in the 2021/2022 season.

Lewandowski has indeed become an important player for Munich and Nagelsmann. He managed to score 46 goals during the span of the match.
