Thomas Tuchel says Chelsea's sacking was one of the most painful moments of his coaching career.
Tuchel joined Chelsea in early 2021 ago. This German man inherited the managerial chair from Frank Lampard.
Tuchel's cold hand polish immediately made Chelsea's performance change. The Blues he brought won three trophies.
He initially brought Chelsea to the Champions League trophy. After that he also won the UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup.
Chelsea sack Tuchel
Initially Chelsea signed Thomas Tuchel for 18 months. There is also an option to extend the contract for another year.
Chelsea impressed with Tuchel's performance. The 49-year-old's contract was finally extended until 2024 after winning the Champions League trophy.
But Chelsea then made a surprising decision. After undergoing the inaugural UCL 2022/2023 match in Group A against Dinamo Zagreb, they sacked Tuchel.
Chelsea did not take long to find a replacement. The day after firing Tuchel, they appointed Graham Potter as his successor.
Tuchel Destroyed!
After being divorced by Chelsea three times, Thomas Tuchel has yet to give any comment to the media. But finally, on Sunday (11/09/2022), he opened his voice.
Tuchel revealed how he felt to the public. He did so via his social media account on Twitter.
"This is one of the most difficult statements I have ever written - and one that I hope I don't have to make for many years. I am devastated that my time at Chelsea has come to an end," Tuchel wrote.
Message to Chelsea Players, Fans and Staff
Thomas Tuchel continued, he already feels comfortable at Chelsea. he considered Stamford Bridge like his own home.
Tuchel then greeted the Chelsea players. He also did not forget the staff at the club and of course the Blues fans.
"This is a club where I feel right at home, both professionally and personally. A big thank you to all the staff, players and supporters for making me feel so welcome from the start."
Unforgettable memory
Thomas Tuchel then revealed the most beautiful memory he had with Chelsea. He said the moment was when he brought the Blues to the Champions League title.
Likewise the moment when he brought Chelsea to the Club World Cup title. He emphasized that the two moments he will always remember for the rest of his life.
"The pride and joy I felt while helping the team win the Champions League and Club World Cup will stay with me forever. I am honored to have been a part of the history of this club and the memories of the last 19 months will always have a special place in my heart." Close Tuchel.
