Karim Benzema is one of the longest-serving players at Real Madrid. He has been actively defending Los Blancos since being redeemed from Lyon in 2009.

Recently, Benzema won a prestigious award. He won the world's best player award, the 2022 Ballon d'Or beating famous names like Sadio Mane and Kevin De Bruyne.

Benzema said that he wanted to close his career with El Real. "Yes, I don't think there is any other option but to hang up at Real Madrid," Benzema told Onda Cero.

Dreams Come True

According to Benzema, he is currently living his dream. He said he had dreamed of playing for Real Madrid for a long time and he wanted to spend his career there.

"For me, joining Real Madrid is a dream. I had three dreams from the start, namely buying my mother a house, playing for Real Madrid and winning the Ballon d'OR," continued Benzema.

"I've kept my promise to my mother, and I'm very proud. Besides that, two of my dreams have come true, so I'm really happy," he continued.

Big Ambition

Even though he has realized his three big dreams, Benzema admits that he still has ambitions left. He wants to win the World Cup with the French national team.

He wants to complete his trophy cabinet, so the trophy with the French national team is a trophy he really wants to win.

"I still have an ambition, which is to win the World Cup with the French national team. I have a goal to play in the World Cup and do everything to win it," added the striker.

Contract Thin

Karim Benzema's contract at Real Madrid is currently running low. He could leave El Real as a free agent in 2023.

But Benzema has confirmed that he is discussing a new contract with Madrid and he hopes to reach an agreement with the La Liga champions.
