Congratulations, Michael Carrick is Officially New Middlesbrough Manager


49erssports.com - Championship club Middlesbrough finally has a new manager. The Boro officially introduce Michael Carrick as their new manager.

Middlesbrough has been without a manager since the beginning of October 2022. They sacked Chris Wilder from the position of manager after Boro had won just two of their 11 Championship games.

Since then Galileo Percovich has been Boro's caretaker. While the Middlesbrough management are looking for someone who will be their permanent manager.

Today, Monday (24/10/2022), Middlesbrough officially announced who their new manager. Boro officially recruited Michael Carrick as their manager.

One Vision

Middlesbrough owner Steve Gibson was delighted with Carrick's arrival. He said the former Manchester United coach could provide a lot for his team.

"We are very pleased to welcome Michael into this club. We actually have several suitable candidates for this job, but Michael is the most prominent candidate," explained Gibson.

"Michael has the same values ​​as this club and he fits our ambitions. We believe Michael is the perfect person for us and he believes he is managing the right club."

Carrick also admitted that he was very happy to be able to handle Middlesbrough. He said Boro was his boyhood club and he was happy to be back there.

"I'm very excited to be here and be part of a club with such a rich tradition. When I was 9 years old, Middlesbrough was the first professional club I played for, so to be able to return to this club as a coach to feel really special," he explained. Carrick.

"I will give everything to build a team at this club and I want to take this club forward and make our supporters proud. I can't wait to get started," he said.

Unemployed One Year

Carrick himself had been unemployed for a year. Previously he was assistant manager to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Manchester United.

He was actually asked to stay by Ralf Rangnick, but he decided to leave and he had rejected several offers before accepting The Boro's proposal.
