Leroy Sane Injured, Chances of World Cup 2022 Doubt

49erssports.com -Another star player who could potentially miss the 2022 World Cup. He is the German national team player, Leroy Sane.

Bayern Munich as the club that owns Sane reports that the player has just passed a medical test. As a result, his left thigh muscle is definitely torn.

However, in the club's official statement, it was not explained how long it would take Sane to recover. Munich only said the player would be out "for a while.

“FC Bayern will be without Leroy Sane for a while. This is the result of an examination carried out by the club's medical team," the official statement said.

Pulled Out

The injury was obtained when Munich won 5-0 over Freiburg in week 10. Sane was taken off in the 76th minute and was replaced by Mathys Tel.

For about 75 minutes of the game, Sane contributed greatly to Munich. He scored one goal and two assists.

"The 26-year-old suffered a tear in his left thigh muscle during the 5-0 home win against Freiburg on Sunday night," Bayern said in a statement.

Doubtful

While it's not clear how long Sane has been out for, the 90min report says he's a doubt. The 2022 World Cup is also only five weeks away.

The first match will be held on November 20, 2022. Germany is scheduled to play on November 23, 2022.

However, the entire national team must submit their final squad decision before the inaugural match in Qatar. The deadline for submission is November 14, 2022.

Possibility of being left behind

The same report states that Germany will announce the pre-selection squad. Sane's name is predicted to be included in the list.

However, Sane could not be included in the final squad of 26 players who will be handed over on November 14, if he does not recover soon.

Germany national team manager Hansi Flick has been known to not include players whose conditions are in doubt. If Sane's condition doesn't improve soon, then he will most likely be left behind.
