49erssports.com - A hope was floated by Erik Ten Hag ahead of the duel against Tottenham. He hopes Manchester United playmaker Christian Eriksen can make a comeback in this match.
In the middle of this week, Manchester United will hold a big match at Old Trafford. They will host Tottenham in week 12 of the 2022/23 EPL.
Last weekend, Manchester United's condition was quite limp. Their mainstay playmaker, Christian Eriksen had to miss because he was sick.
Ten Hag hopes that the playmaker can recover in time and play in this match. "I can't say for sure if he [Eriksen] can play against Spurs later, but I hope he can come back," Ten Hag told Viaplay.

Crucial Player
Ten Hag admits that Eriksen has a vital role in the Manchester United squad. He said the playmaker always made a good contribution in the Red Devils attack line.
"I can say he played fantastically. We really miss his presence in our team," continued Ten Hag.
"So far he's really made a big contribution to our team so we hope he can recover in the game [vs Tottenham]."
Prepare a Backup Plan
Ten Hag also emphasized that his team had also prepared for the possibility if Eriksen did not recover in time.
He said there were a number of players in the Red Devils squad who could replace Eriksen's role in the duel.
"We have a good team. We have 11 other players on the pitch, and we will form the best team to face them [Tottenham], including those who are sitting on the bench even though we can't play Eriksen," he added.
Reunion Match
Tottenham is not a foreign club for Eriksen. The playmaker had time to defend the team from North London.
He spent seven years from 2013-2020 playing for Tottenham before moving to Inter Milan.
