Richarlison: I am worthy and fit in the uniform of the Brazilian national team! - The new Tottenham Hotspur striker, Richarlison recently shared his story with the Brazilian national team. The 25-year-old feels proud to have made it this far in the Brazilian national team.

Of course this is not an easy thing considering there are thousands of Brazilian talents who are ready to compete to secure a place to wear the Selecao costume. However, Richarlison proved his hard work could be paid off with his proud yellow costume.

Richarlison did not even think that he was one of the attackers who could potentially strengthen the Selecao in the 2022 World Cup. Moreover, Richarlison could only see from the screen when the Brazilian national team competed in the 2018 World Cup.

After Brazil's failure in Russia, Richarlison began to be called upon to strengthen his beloved country. Richarlison didn't waste that opportunity. Since making his debut, Richarlison has led Brazil to win the 2019 Copa America and the Olympics in Japan.

“Since I put on the Selecao jersey, I feel fine. I scored goals, I made assists, I did everything for this jersey, I hope it stays that way. I'm the top scorer in the Olympics, so I think (the Brazilian jersey) is perfect for me," Richarlison was quoted as saying by FIFA.

Really Dreaming of Playing in the World Cup

Being able to play in a tournament as big as the World Cup is of course the dream of every football lover. This is also what Richarlison has always dreamed of.

The 2022 World Cup could be the beginning of Richarlison's story to make achievements for Brazil in this quadrennial tournament. Of course, this opportunity will be maximized well by Richarlison, who waited four years ago in front of the small screen.

“My first World Cup… hmm it felt like a dream” said Richarlison about his participation in the 2022 World Cup.

“Before I only watched it (Brazil) on TV. I was a fan of the (Brazil) national team during the last World Cup (2018), and now I will be on the pitch," added Richarlison.

Raised Premier League

All of Richarlison's success stories in fighting for the Brazil national team jersey cannot be separated from the influence of the Premier League. The reason, Richarlison began to get attention after his move to the Premier League in the 2017/18 season.

At that time Watford were able to see Richarlison's great potential. One season at Watford, Richarlison's talent finally experienced rapid development after being recruited by Everton. There Richarlison began to get the main stage of the Premier League.

Playing his first season well at Everton, Richarlison managed to attract the attention of the Brazilian coach to call him. The decision was in fact very appropriate considering Richarlison was able to score 14 goals at the end of the season with Everton.

Scoring a total of 53 goals during his four seasons at Everton made him one of the most successful Brazilian players in the Premier League. Richarlison, who currently plays at Tottenham Hotspur, is very grateful to the Premier League coaches who have taken care of him.

“I grew a lot in the Premier League, where I was coached by Carlo Ancelotti, Frank Lampard, Rafa Benitez, Marco Silva and now Antonio Conte. I learned a lot from all of them, thanks to that I am now playing in the Champions League for the first time,” said Richarlison.
